Themes for the second part of this term will be fireworks, bonfires, winter and Christmas. The children have been cooking – pumpkin and apple crumble (much appreciated by parents) – and will be engaging in more culinary activities closer to Christmas. They have been very creative with cardboard models, lanterns, glittery paper rockets and snowflakes too.
The pre-school is busy currently, with high numbers of children in each session and others waiting to join. Numbers for Spring Term are also very healthy, despite a large number of children leaving us to go to school in January.
We have had a recent change of personnel, with Claire Norris taking over as supervisor and Fiona Turner (who now pursues her interest in children with special needs for part of the week) becoming Claire's deputy. We're delighted to have such an experienced team in charge.
Our main fundraising event for this term will be the raffle (for a Christmas hamper or two, and various other prizes), at the Christmas party on 18 December. Please support the pre-school by buying a ticket – first prize is a large hamper, with many other goodies on offer. Tickets will be on sale in the Bluebell shortly. We will be singing a few Christmas songs and the children will have a visit from Santa Claus, followed by presentations to our leavers.
If you have a child of pre-school age and would be interested in having a look around, please call us on 01799 599797 during pre-school hours or contact Emma Horton on 01799 513696 regarding admissions.
