MINUTES OF THE HEMPSTEAD PARISH COUNCIL

The Parish Council meeting opened at 8.00 pm

  6. PLANNING


    Boyntons: Although it was agreed that there were no objections to the plan, it was agreed that the clerk should be emphasise to the Planning Department that the Barn should never be sold separately to the main dwelling or be allowed to be converted to any other use.

  7. HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY

    Footway There was no additional news on this project.

    Mr. Drane reported that repairs had been started to the road approaching Radwinter. The road had also been repaired outside Highbanks. He was still chasing other repairs to roads and also to railings.

    The hedge outside Columbus Cottage was overgrowing the footpath causing difficulty using the footpath. The Chairman agreed to contact Mr Haylock.

  8. ENVIRONMENT

    Maintenance of Bus Shelter and Notice boards Still no reply had been received from a potential contractor.

    Flooding There was to be a Training Day on 6th October for volunteers to survey potential problems with waterways in the area. Mrs McNeil and Mr Sladen agreed to attend. Mr Sladen agreed to reply to Lisa Lipscombe.

  9. FINANCE

    Cheques were signed as follows:-

    £37.44 to HMRC PAYE
    £497.4 CAS insurance (Increase due to laptop and associated items)
    £600 to J Basham grass cutting outside meeting 7th July 2016
    Banking Arrangements The clerk distributed details of Unity Bank and explained that the service would probably cost £6 a month. He said that he would research further before any definite recommendation.

  10. COMMUNICATIONS

    The clerk agreed to check the Financial Information on the website to clarify the titles of some items.

  11. VILLAGE HALL

    Mr McCarthy reported on the latest Village Hall Management Committee Meeting where the Pre-School Group hire charge had been rationalised. This would aid the drive towards breaking even without fundraising.

The meeting ended at 9.05 pm

FUTURE MEETINGS – Dates of future meetings: September 1 and October 6 at 8pm in the Village Hall. NB. The previously planned date of August 18 is cancelled and there will be no meeting in August.
